Sentry believes contributing time, effort, and resource to its surrounding communities—and supporting associates in their individual efforts to do the same—is an essential part of who we are. Here are some benefits and initiatives from Sentry that highlight our dedication to community support:
Our Total Rewards benefits package includes volunteer time off (VTO). The goal is to support volunteer activities that lift up our communities.
In each of the past several years, we've raised more than $1 million for the non-profit organization across our locations. That includes associate donations through pledges, fundraising efforts, and numerous activities held during a two-week campaign every fall—along with a corporate matching contribution by the Sentry Insurance Foundation.
Through the Sentry Insurance Foundation matching gift program, we match associate and retiree donations to eligible organizations on a 1:1 basis, from $25–$7,500 per associate per year.
The Sentry Foundation also awards scholarships to dependents of associates and other students across the country on an annual basis. That includes a scholarship programs at the University of Texas–El Paso and El Paso Community College, and on the island of Maui
In 2022, our foundation gifted $10 million to the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point to help create a state-of-the-art facility to house its School of Business and Economics.
