Investigate and resolve complex claims, manage caseloads, negotiate settlements, communicate with stakeholders, and mentor reps using analytical judgment.

This position will be located in our Stevens Point, WI – Division Street office under our hybrid work model.

What You’ll Do:

As a Principal Claims Representative - Liability, you will leverage your strong analytical, decision-making, and problem solving skills to determine liability and ensure fair claims resolutions In addition, you will…

  • Verify coverage by thoroughly reviewing the policy and interpretating policy terms, conditions, and language. This may require working with coverage counsel on complex policy or contract interpretation.

  • Evaluate liability by taking recorded statements from involved parties and witnesses, reviewing police reports, and compiling other pertinent evidence. Negotiate or deny liability based on the investigation outcome.

  • Evaluate physical damage and bodily injury claims based on estimates, photographs, appraisals, medical reports, medical bills, and other evidence. Work closely with medical providers, repair shops, and/or contractors to facilitate necessary and related services or repair work.

  • Mentor other associates to share your knowledge, expertise, insights, and perspectives and assist the mentee in achieving their goals and enhancing their skills.

  • Comply with industry regulations, legal requirements, and internal policies through thorough documentation of all decisions, correspondence, and discussions that occur throughout the life cycle of the claim.

What it Takes:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • 7+ years of related work experience

  • Demonstrated expertise in technical claims with ability to understand and manage litigated claims

  • Ability to successfully mentor

  • Ability to review and analyze the most complex documents, insurance policies, coverages, medical reports, and insurance regulations for construction defect claims

  • Ability to make appropriate claim decisions, prioritize, and manage workload

  • Superior writing, communication, and presentation skills

  • Expertise in conflict resolutions and negotiation

  • Technology aptitude

  • Must have ability to travel as necessary to satisfactorily complete their job responsibilities
